Christmas Cheer with Tiny Prints

It has become a holiday tradition to send out a family photo on our Christmas cards each year. And while it can be a bit stressful to plan and take the photos, the fun for me has always been in designing our cards. The last several years we have used Tiny Prints and we couldn't be more pleased with their selections and quality.  Here is a peek at the cards we selected this year.

We chose a foil-stamped card this year and I love how it seamlessly blends with our family photo. I wanted our actual card to be a bit more simplistic this time around, so I opted for rounded edges and a photo of our pups to finish off the back. And a new feature I could not resist was the custom envelopes that include free recipient addressing, making it easy peasy to send out holiday cheer this year! Speaking of sending out cards, how cute are these personalized postage stamps?!

In keeping with tradition, I sat down with a cup of hot cocoa while watching a Christmas movie to assemble all of our Tiny Prints Christmas cards. Now, all I have to do is pop them in the mail.

A special thanks to Tiny Prints for providing free cards to review.  As always, these opinions are 100% my own and this review is a genuine reflection of my thoughts and feelings regarding this experience. Family photos taken by Tracie Lawson Photography.

If you're like me, you look forward to discovering the goodies stashed in your Christmas stocking. My mom usually fills ours with essentials like floss and lip balm, but there are always a few really fun items too! This year I will be dropping hints for these adorable polka dot mittens and this gold Swell bottle. If you need more gift ideas, be sure to check out my guide for Gifts for Her under $25.

Spreading Christmas Cheer with Tiny Prints

It doesn't seem possible that Thanksgiving is just a few days away, which means Christmas will be here before we know it. And you know what that means, it's time to step up your Christmas game and start shopping and planning family photos, if you haven't already. We got the ball rolling a little early this year and planned our family photo shoot for the first weekend in November; and it's a good thing we did since we ended up having to do a second photo session in order to get a photo we could use. So with that being said, I wanted to share a few simple tips to make taking photos with your family pets a little less stressful.

First things first, when deciding on a location be sure to take into consideration how your pet will react in that environment. For our first photo session the photographer selected an outdoor park which would have been fine except for the fact that there were several other photographers and families on location as well. No matter how hard we tried we could not get our pups to look at the camera, instead they were focused on all of the other people. So, needless to say we did not get a single shot of the four of us that we could use. Our photographer was booked up so she gave us a recommendation for another photographer would could do a private session with us. When booking the second session, we chose a secluded location where we had taken photos the previous year to insure that there wouldn't be any other people around to distract the pups.

Next, be sure to pack some yummy treats and a few of your pets favorite toys in order to motivate them to look at the camera. Knowing how much Swayze loves squeaky tennis balls and her frisbee, we were sure to take those along. We also clued our photographer in on trigger words/phrases that would get the dogs attention too! You know, phrases like "do you want to go", "are you hungry", and "cookie". And of course one of the most important things to have when taking family photos with pets is patience...lots and lots of patience! I am certainly no expert, but hopefully these tips will help your photo session run a littler smoother.

Once the stress of taking family photos is over, you can have some fun and start planning your holiday cards. For the last several years we have used Tiny Prints and have been more than pleased with their selections and quality. Below is a peek at the cards we selected this year!

We chose this card design which has sort of a vintage Christmas feel to it with snowflakes on the back! Much like last year, I couldn't resist the cute scalloped edges and matching envelope liners that add a little flare. And a new addition this year was the matching return address labels that I decided to also use as an envelope seal since I hate licking envelopes!

And of course there is no better way to assemble and address all of our Tiny Prints holiday cards other than sitting down with a cup of hot cocoa while listening to some Christmas music! Now, I just have to wait until after Thanksgiving to pop my cards in the mail and spread some Christmas cheer.

With Thanksgiving less than a week away, it's time to get your Christmas shopping game on. Each year my goal is to be finished with all of our shopping by Thanksgiving so I can avoid the holiday rush and simply enjoy my favorite time of year. So, I decided to continue with tradition and put together another series of gift guides to make your shopping a little easier. And I don't know about you, but I am always a fan of gifts that won't break the bank! I am loving these adorable plaid pajamas and have added them to my own wish list since I tend to be a bit of pajama hoarder, lol.
