Gingham, Leopard, & Mustard

I can't believe it's already Monday, where did the weekend go? I wore this outfit on Saturday when we hosted dinner for some friends of ours. It was so nice to enjoy dinner with friends and not feel rushed like I sometimes do in restaurants when you know they are waiting for you to quit chatting and give up their table already! Do you ever feel that way? Anyway, I have a pretty serious obsession with gingham and wore it nonstop last season so keeping with tradition here I am wearing it again. My husband actually hates that I refer to it as gingham and insists that it is checkered instead, silly boys!

Do you love gingham as much as I do?
What is your favorite way to style gingham?

Speaking of ways to style gingham, how cute is this Groopdealz "Shop the Look" that is being featured this week? And can you believe these boots are under $40? Head on over to their site to check it out!

Friday Finds: Leopard Loafers

Happy Friday, loves! It's that time of year when you will start seeing leopard loafers everywhere and I don't know about you, but I personally love this fall trend! Since leopard print has become such a neutral staple in most of our wardrobes it is no surprise that leopard loafers are such a huge hit. You should be able to find a leopard loafer that is just right for you since almost every designer has come up with their own version. And for that matter, you can also find them in a wide range of prices to fit just about any budget.

Preppy Jewels

Now that fall is "officially" here I find myself wearing layers, blazers, and boots even though the weather here in Texas is still a little warmer than I would like for it to be. So, in true fall style I decided to break out my navy boyfriend blazer and pair it with my jeweled oxford (recently worn here) and metallic heels for a preppy jeweled look! I literally want to wear this shirt with everything and am thinking I may have to get this version too! I mean who doesn't love a nice crisp button down shirt that is covered in sparkly jewels? And as if the jewels on the shirt weren't enough, I decided to add my Leopard & Latte necklace into the mix too!

Blazer: Pink Slate Boutique | Shirt: J.Crew Factory (option) | Denim: c/o Shop Elysian (option) | Heels: Target (option) | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target | Necklace: c/o Leopard & Latte | Bracelet: Luxe Craving | Ring: Kate Spade (option) | Earrings: J.Crew Factory

Do you have a favorite piece of clothing that you want to wear with everything?

Fall Brights

It is no secret that I love wearing bright colors and I didn't see any reason to not continue wearing them into the fall! I picked up this hot pink sweatshirt from J.Crew Factory last year and it has been one of my fall/winter favorites ever since. I have paired it with this polka dot top before so I wanted to add a little flair and was able to do just that with this gorgeous statement necklace from Leopard & Latte and my new clutch from MimicDesign! I am so excited for my fellow blog buddy and Instagram friend, Orietta of Leopard & Latte, to open up her new shop. She clearly has an eye for detail and has me swooning over several items in her shop including this pair of earrings! So if you haven't already, head on over to Leopard & Latte and check out her fabulous jewelry!

How to Style It: Now and Later

In lieu of my usual Friday Finds, I decided to mix things up a bit and share how to style an item now that you can also style later on in the season. If you haven't already started thinking of ways to transition your wardrobe into fall and winter, now is the time to start doing so. I for one, have been thinking of fall for weeks now so my wardrobe transition is starting to take place even if the weather isn't fully cooperating at this point. Yes, I am that crazy girl who has been wearing long sleeves even with the scorching hot temps, but in my defense I am inside all day in a rather cool classroom so it really isn't all that crazy is it? Anyway, I recently styled this striped dress with the "now" look here and plan to make it winter appropriate by pairing it with some leggings, boots, and a wool blazer. Check out the now and later looks below.

Now & Later
Now Look:
Dress | Chambray | Heels | Bag | Sunglasses | Necklace | Bangles

  Later Look:
Dress | Blazer | Boots | Bag | Sunglasses | Necklace | Lipstick

Would you wear either of these looks?
How do you transition pieces from one season to another?

Mad for Plaid

As I mentioned earlier this week, I am addicted to scarves so naturally I wear them every chance I get. For this look, I decided to wear my new equestrian scarf from EcoShag with one of my favorite plaid shirts. I love how throwing a scarf into the mix can completely change your look! I also like how easy scarves make it to do a little print mixing, too. And did I mention how comfy these booties are which just so happen to be on sale?!

Shirt: Old Navy (option) | Denim: Loft | Booties: Target | Scarf: c/o EcoShag | Bag: Louis Vuitton | Sunglasses: Ray Ban | Watch: Fossil (option) | Bracelets: J.Crew, David Yurman | Earrings: J.Crew Factory | Ring: Kate Spade (option)

How often do you wear scarves?
Do you use them to incorporate print mixing?

Do You Cartwheel?

Well I must say that my pencil skirt selection has grown quite a bit since I shared this post and Target is mostly to blame! I seriously love all of the fun prints they have had lately and not to mention that the price is right. If you haven't already, I recommend checking out Cartwheel by Target which is an app that allows you to browse for Target coupons to use. I was able to save an extra 20% off of this pencil skirt with the app, plus it even works in combination with their Red Card, double savings!

Have you used Cartwheel by Target before?
How else would you style this hounds-tooth skirt?

EcoShag Giveaway

I figured I should start this post off by first telling you that I have a bit of a scarf addiction. My collection has grown to be rather large over the years, however, it has been lacking in one area which happens to be the infinity scarf department. I don't know about you, but I love how cozy infinity scarves are so I decided I "needed" to add a few to my collection and I couldn't resist the one I am wearing or this equestrian one from EcoShag! If that shop name sounds familiar it is probably from when I shared this adorable clutch in this post. So, not only does EcoShag have a variety of clutches, but they also have the cutest scarves too! And it just so happens that EcoShag has decided to give a $50 shop credit away so that one lucky reader can select whatever their little heart desires! To enter the giveaway, simply use the Rafflecopter below. Good Luck!

Top: Target | Denim: c/o Elysian Boutique | Flats: Kohl's (option) | Bag: Louis Vuitton | Scarf: c/o EcoShag | Sunglasses: Anthropologie | Watch: Fossil | Bracelet: J.Crew | Earrings: J.Crew Factory

Friday Finds: J.Crew Factory Fall Arrivals

J.Crew Factory's fall arrivals have finally made their way online! I was lucky enough to get a peek at all of the new arrivals in my store this past weekend when I scooped up several fall must-haves. If you haven't already noticed, the overwhelming trend for this wave of new arrivals is jeweled tops which I happen to love! I was beyond excited to finally get my hands on the sought after Jewel-Collar Sweater which you probably recognize from the retail store last season. I love that Factory has been producing quite a few similar, but more affordable versions to many of the retail pieces we missed out on last season. And did you see this Jeweled Oxford which is identical to the Beaded Chambray only in white? I am crossing my fingers that they will be offering it in other colors too! And of course amongst these new arrivals many of you will be happy to find the Spotted Sequin Tee which is another favorite brought back from the retail store!

We love how Danielle of 2 Coasts Fashion is transitioning to fall by pairing a mustard mini skirt with a lightweight cream blouse and wedge booties. The leopard belt is the perfect fall flair. You know we love leopard!

Carylee of More Pieces of Me paired a fabulous green blouse with a navy and white polka dot skirt. We love how she incorporated the cognac heels and bag. Such a great fall transition look for the office.
