Friday Finds: Flats for Less!

I don't know about you, but I just love a cute pair of flats. Being a teacher, I practically wear flats every day during the school year. I have splurged on several pair since I do wear them so often and need them to be comfortable since I am on my feet all day. Although, just because I need comfy shoes to wear in the workplace, does not mean that they have to be boring! Why not add in some fun stripes or leopard print to brighten up an outfit? I definitely feel better when I am wearing cute flats at work rather than plain ole black flats. If I find comfortable enough flats that can take me through the workday and then to dinner afterwards, then it is worth it to me to splurge on them. However, we can't splurge on every pair of shoes we buy so I am always on the lookout for more budget friendly alternatives. And truth be told, some of my most expensive pairs of shoes are the least comfortable! Don't you hate that? These look for less options are easy on the wallet, but still cute and on trend. You can actually get all four of the looks for less for $100 which is less than a single splurge option below! How awesome is that?

Three-fer Thursday Link Up

Happy Thursday! I don't know about you, but I know we're super excited for the weekend! Next week is the Fourth of July, and we can't wait to barbecue and celebrate with friends and family. Speaking of the Fourth of July, we will be taking a week off for Three-fer Thursday. We figure you will all be basking in the sun somewhere, enjoying a burger and a drink or two (with or without umbrellas). We will run this week's link up a little longer until Wednesday, July 3, and then we will be back again on July 11!

As always, thank you to those who linked up last week. This week's link up may have been the best yet! We are excited to see what you have in store for us this week! So, get linked up and go meet some new blog buddies!

Now, onto this week's featured three...

Mary of The Classy Cubicle paired black and white with a pop of red. We love everything about this look, and we're totally lusting over all of the Kate Spade! Can we have her closet, please?

Elvy of Pigtails and Pearls was able to snatch up those adorable elephant print shorts from the Banana Republic Milly Collection that sold out so quickly! We are definitely envious. We love how she paired them with a pop of pink and a bright bag.

Karissa of The Start of the Shaws was nervous about pattern mixing, but we think she nailed it! We love the polka dots and stripes combo and how she stuck with the same color scheme. Did you know her shirt is on backwards and there is an adorable bow in the back?! Brilliant and super cute!

Coffee Date

I can't believe it is already the last week of June! Hasn't this month flown by? That would be awesome if I were still working, but I don't want my summer to go by so quickly. Today, I have plans to meet up with a friend for some Starbucks and girl talk, two of my favorite things!

A few weeks ago, I picked up this floral print top from Forever 21 and I am loving the soft, feminine colors in it. I decided to pair it with boyfriend jeans and heels for a fun casual look while running around today. By the way, how cute is this bow bracelet I am wearing from Max & Chloe? I love that it is dainty and elegant with just a little touch of sparkle. Perfect for any arm party! Be sure to check out their huge selection of fashion jewelry.

And of course I had to take advantage of this photo op with Dexter. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably can't believe that his tongue is actually in his mouth, lol!

Get the Look:

One Skirt Three Ways

This past Friday I featured several budget friendly pencil skirts, see the post here. So today, I wanted to share three ways to style one of them! I don't know about you, but when I purchase an item I want to be able to wear it several ways in order to get my money's worth out of it. I was able to snag this skirt on sale for $11 so the price per wear will be rather cheap if I wear it three times! I already own several of these items and can improvise on the ones that I don't have. Check out the three looks below.

One Skirt Three Ways

First Look: Skirt | Cardigan |  Heels | Clutch | Necklace | Bracelet
Second Look:  Skirt | Blouse | Flats | Bag | Necklace | Bangles
Third Look: SkirtChambray | Heels | Clutch | Necklace | Sunglasses

Which of the three looks above is your favorite?
How many times do you plan to wear an item in order to justify purchasing it?

This is just a friendly reminder that as of July 1, Google Friend Connect will be no more. Feel free to follow along via Bloglovin to continue receiving Perfectly Coutured updates! Registering an account is simple and allows you to keep up-to-date with all of your favorite blogs.

Celebratory Stripes

The hubby and I went out for a nice dinner this past weekend to celebrate his promotion at work and my offer to teach in a different school district! We are both very excited for the new opportunities and are looking forward to what the future holds. Since we went to a fancier restaurant than normal, I decided to pair this striped dress with my turquoise fan fringe and favorite coral heels for a little bit dressier look. I actually stumbled across this dress a while back when searching for Striped Sunday Steals and instantly knew I had to have it!

Get the Look:
Dress: Forever 21 (option) | Heels: JCPenney (option) | Necklace: Etsy (option) | Bracelets: 1, 2, 3

P.S. My Stella & Dot Trunk Show is going on until June 30th, and don't forget that you will be entered to win a $50 credit for each purchase that you make! You can find all of the details, here.

Friday Finds: Pencil Skirts

Happy Friday! Today is all about pencil skirts! I surprisingly only had one pencil skirt hanging in my closet prior to last week, that's right I said one! So needless to say, I have been wanting needing to expand my pencil skirt collection and was able to find these wallet friendly options. While making a quick Target trip I came across the first three skirts shown below and ended up bringing the floral and polka dot prints home with me. With a sale price of $11, how could I resist?! I have been contemplating going back for the pink one as well. I also picked up the black and white floral printed skirt from New York & Company during the 50% off sale which I think will be quite versatile. I am definitely enjoying some time off from work, but will be excited to wear my new skirts when I head back to work in August.

Day to Night

We've all had those days when we need to be somewhere after work, but don't have time for a complete outfit change. So today, I wanted to show you how to easily transform a basic striped skirt and chambray top from day to night.

For the daytime look I opted for some cute flats since they are practical for any situation. I'm not sure what you do for work, but I am on my feet all day as a teacher and need comfy shoes! I also like that the leopard flats allow for a little bit of pattern mixing without being overwhelming. I stuck with neutral accessories and and a fun pair of tortoise shades to keep the look classy and work appropriate.

After work, I would opt for fun colorful accessories to jazz up your look! You could swap out your flats for a fun pair of strappy heels and throw on a bright statement necklace too. Then just grab your essentials and toss them in this colorful clutch and off you go for a fun night on the town!

Daytime Look:
Chambray | Striped Skirt | FlatsBag | Necklace | Bangles | Lipstick | Sunglasses  | Nail Polish

Nighttime Look:

Would you wear either of these looks?
How do you easily change up your look from day to night?

Last week I showed you three ways I envisioned wearing my new turquoise ikat scarf, here. I Wear My Sunglasses...

I hope that you all had a fabulous weekend celebrating Father's Day! My parents stayed with us a few days last weekend since my dad had back surgery here in the Dallas area and they will be back again this upcoming weekend so I wasn't able to spend Father's Day with my dad like I normally do. We did, however, go out to lunch with my in-laws to celebrate which was nice. And the pups were sweet like always and got my hubby a cute card and some other goodies with a little help from me!

In other news, the Anthropologie sunglasses that were featured in this post were delivered on Saturday and I must say that they were worth the wait! I always love a good look for less and these do not disappoint! Of course I couldn't wait to wear them so I threw on my new cap sleeve dress from Target and out the door I went.

Get the Look:

Now that school is out and the temperature is rising, I thought it would be a good time to shop for a few new summer essentials. These pieces are just the right kind of laid back attire I usually prefer during the hot summer months - a striped maxi, colorful sandals, tortoise sunglasses and fun accessories (also, how adorable is that swimsuit?). Everything you see below is $15 or less which is even more of a reason to spend your summer in style!

Scarf Style

Lori, my Stella & Dot stylist, sent over this gorgeous Turquoise Ikat Scarf and I am obsessed with it! I love the vibrant colors paired with the playful ikat print. If you follow me on Instagram, you have probably noticed that I have quite the scarf collection, but I must say that this one is my absolute favorite! Here are just a few of the ways I hope to style my scarf this summer.

Picnic in the Park
 Shorts | SandalsEarringsBanglesScarf | Chambray

I can definitely see myself sporting this casual look for a fun picnic in the park or a day of running errands. And this scarf is lightweight, making it the perfect choice to add a fun pop of color to any summer outfit.

I don't know about you, but I like to dress for comfort when traveling. And since I would still like to look "put together" while being comfy, I decided that boyfriend jeans paired with a light sweater and this scarf would accomplish just that. I also love the added pop of neon in this tote which is the perfect carry-on bag for all of your necessities.

For those of you that are working during the summer, you can accessorize your handbag while still keeping your look polished and professional. You could also wear this to a wedding/baby shower and throw on a colorful statement necklace
