Friday Finds: Splurge vs Save

Friday Finds: Splurge vs Save

Black Mini MAC: Splurge | Save
Rain Boots: Splurge | Save
Satchel: Splurge | Save
Buffalo Check Scarf: Splurge | Save

I don't know about you, but I am so glad it is finally Friday! And today I am excited to share a few of my favorite fall accessories that are available in both a splurge and save option. I am a huge fan of look for less options, however, I also don't mind spending a little more on items that I know will be investment pieces in my wardrobe. My general rule of thumb is to always try and save on items that I feel are trendy. How do you decide which items are worth splurging on?

I hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween! We are looking forward to giving out candy to all of the neighborhood trick-or-treaters this evening :)

Three-fer Thursday Link Up

Happy Thursday, darlings! Are you as excited as we are that tomorrow is Halloween? We would love to see your costumes if you are dressing up this year! And as usual, we loved your posts this past week and had a difficult time selecting only three to feature...thanks so much for linking up with us! So get linked up, meet some new blog buddies and check out these fabulous ladies while you're at it!

Meet this week's featured three...

Caitlin of The Fetching Fox looks fabulous in her sweater dress and blanket scarf! We think this look screams fall and definitely plan to try out a similar look of our own.

Conni of Art in the Find has us swooning over her feminine, fall look. We are obsessed with how she paired her polka dot puffer vest with a pastel midi skirt and booties...simply perfect!

Johanna of One Hundred and One Things I Love is looking cozy and cute in her plaid jacket and distressed denim. We are loving this chic look and think that jacket needs to make its way into our closets too!

Link up for your chance to be one of the featured three next week!

Mix and Match

Plaid: JCPenney (love this and this) | Skirt: Target (option) | Heels: DSW (love these) | Clutch: c/o Mimic Design | Watch: Kate Spade | Bracelet: Loren Hope | Necklace: c/o The Pearl Source | Earrings: J.Crew Factory | Ring: David Yurman | Lipstick: Urban Decay - Manic

I am always looking for ways to incorporate more causal pieces into my work wardrobe like this plaid top for example. And today's look was my attempt at doing just that. Since my look has a lot of print mixing going on, I decided to keep my accessories to a minimum and opted for a classic pearl necklace from The Pearl Source. How do you transition casual wear into work wear?

Rugby Stripes

Sweater: Forever 21 | Tunic: J.Crew Factory | Demim: Big Star (love these) | Heels: JCPenney | Bag: Tory Burch | Sunglasses: Karen Walker | Necklace: c/o Bib Jewelry | Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington | Bracelet: c/o Bib Jewelry | Earrings: J.Crew Factory | Ring: David Yurman

So, I must confess that my decision to order this rugby striped sweater was based entirely upon the fact that I could wear these heels and carry my favorite fall bag with it! My hubby even noticed that this shoe/bag combination was on repeat when we left the house since I had recently worn them together here. But don't worry, I also have plans to pair this sweater with booties and cobalt flats! What items have you had on repeat lately?

Preppy Polka Dots

Blazer: Target (love this) | Chambray: Old Navy (option) | Denim: J.Crew Factory | Rain Boots: c/o Joules | Necklace: c/o Purple Peridot | Watch: Kate Spade | Earrings: J.Crew Factory | Ring: David Yurman

I know you're not supposed to wear white on what could be a rainy day, but I just couldn't resist. And since I was already breaking the rules, I figured I might as well wear my rain boots all day too! I mean what could be cuter than polka dot rain boots that also have a little pop of pink? So needless to say, today's look was built entirely around these Joules rain boots and I must say that I sort of love it and hope you do too!

Fall Style under $40

Today, I decided to put together three fall looks that won't break the bank! And even though each of these items are under $40, they certainly don't look like they are which is perfect for those of us trying to make the most of our budget. I am especially loving these over the knee boots, and if you don't already own a leopard clutch check out this one that is under $25!

P.S. Shop the Tory Burch private sale with up to 70% off by clicking here! A few of my favorites are below...

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Three-fer Thursday Link Up

Happy Thursday, lovelies! We loved each and every one of your posts last week and want to thank you all for linking up with us! And we can't believe that October is almost over! Speaking of which, will you be attending any Halloween parties next week? Anyway get linked up, meet some new blog buddies and check out these fabulous ladies while you're at it!

Meet this week's featured three...

Jenna of Sincerely Jenna Marie looks darling in her casual fall attire. We love how she paired a rust color with camo print for an unexpected, yet perfectly fall combo! And of course you can't wrong with a floppy hat this time of year.

Red Reticule decided to introduce her fur vest to the mini skirt and we think it was a match made in heaven! We also think this look could easily transition from the office to a night out on the town!

Audrey of Audrey Salutes shared some great tips for easily styling corduroys this fall. We love how she styled her eggplant cords with light layers and cute booties...a perfect look for a day of visiting pumpkin patches or running errands around town!

Link up for your chance to be one of the featured three next week!

Seeing Spots

Dress: Loft | Leggings: Gap | Heels: old (option) | Clutch: Tory Burch | Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington | Bracelet: c/o Bib Jewelry (under $7) | Earrings: c/o Bib Jewelry (under $7) | Ring: David Yurman

When I came across this edgy, yet classic animal print dress I knew it had to come home with me! I absolutely love the color and abstract print and think it will be very versatile. You can wear it solo, with tights and boots, layered with chambray, or even with a sleek leather jacket...all of which I plan to try! And if you haven't already, be sure to check out Bib Jewelry (also worn here and here) for on trend, affordable jewelry.

Red Currant

Sweater: J.Crew Factory | Tunic: J.Crew Factory | Denim: Big Star (love these) | Heels: Target | Clutch: c/o Mimic Design | Necklace: c/o Bib Jewelry (under $14) | Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington | Bracelet: c/o Bib Jewelry (under $7) | Earrings: J.Crew Factory | Ring: David Yurman

Each season I tend to gravitate towards certain colors and I have found that shades of red and this berry color (worn here) are going to be my go-to colors this fall. I love how they can add a little vibrance to an otherwise dreary fall day. And I am pushing myself to get out of my comfort zone and try some bolder lip colors this season as well. What are some of your favorites?

Rain Check?

Shirt: c/o Tara Lynn's Boutique | Vest: J.Crew Factory | Denim: Loft | Rain Boots: Hunter | Clutch: Tory Burch | Umbrella: c/o The Crystal Feather Boutique | Necklace: c/o Bib Jewelry | Bracelets: c/o Purple Peridot | Earrings: J.Crew Factory | Ring: David Yurman

Growing up I never really cared for rainy days, especially if there was lightening or thunder involved. However, as an adult living in a drought state I have come to appreciate any rain that we get. Plus, it makes for a great excuse to break out my red Hunter's and this adorable Kate Spade umbrella from The Crystal Feather Boutique! And I will be the first to admit that I didn't see the point in splurging on a pair of rain boots, but I am so glad I finally gave in since they are super comfy and cute. The only problem now is that I want them in every color!
